After initially releasing in 2011 for Xbox 360, Ska Studio’s vampiric 2D platformer The Dishwasher: Vampire Smilehas finally launched for Steam. The sequel to 2009’s The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai is a similarly themed gory beat ’em up experience, leaning towards gritty cartoon graphics and fast-paced combo action. An engine change means all the visuals are enhanced to capture the gruesome flavours more faithfully.
Players can choose either Yuki, a mentally loose prisoner with mechanised arms, or The Dishwasher, a reanimated samurai as they embark on a blood-soaked journey to fight against corruption. There’s both local and online co-op, so you can team up with a friend to take on the gritty hordes if you’re craving something beyond singleplayer.
The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile is out now via Steam (PC, Mac and Linux) for $9.99 USD. It’s also available as part of The Skallection, a special bundle from Ska Studios which also includes Charlie Murderand Salt and Sanctuary. It’s currently 15% off its original price.
