Storytellers is a television music series produced by the VH1 network.
In each episode, artists perform in front of a (mostly small and intimate) live audience, and tell stories about their music, writing experiences and memories, somewhat similar to MTV Unplugged. The show started in 1996 with a broadcast of Ray Davies, during his 'Storyteller' tour, and took its name from this first show.
As of February 2016,[citation needed] 98 episodes have aired, and many of the performances have subsequently been released on CD or DVD. 'Best of' collections have also been released.

Meat Loaf enjoyed the show so much that he bought the stage decorations from VH-1 and went on to do a 'Storytellers' tour in 1998/1999.[1]

Storytellers hasn’t been very active in the Celebreality era. The VH1 series (in which Meat Loaf and Jewel once shared their inspiration in intimate venues) hosted only Mary J. Blige and Kid Rock in 2008. Perhaps Yeezy will breathe new life into the fallen franchise, like he’s done with the TR-808 and the shag. VH1 Storytellers: Kanye West was filmed at the Sony Stages in Los Angeles on 2/13 and premieres this Saturday 2/28 at 9/8c. We’ve got a sneak preview in the form of “Stronger,” though it doesn’t include the storytelling part.

Bonus: “Love Lockdown” will be viewable online only. I guess we’ll never hear the story about how Kanye’s friend showed him pictures of his kids and all Kanye could show him was pictures of his cribs? I do like that he’s rapping in a giant Lite-Brite. I also like his hot pink shirt (nullus).
